Encouraging 100% acceptance is a hallmark of this successful program that brings military-connected and civilian kids together. The group welcomes incoming students to their new school and helps departing students prepare for their next school. Feeling like the perpetual “new kid” can be stressful - just finding someone to eat lunch with can make a difference. This student-centered and student-led program is offered by UPHS to ease transitions, and create a positive environment here for any and all students- Our goal is to provide them with an opportunity to come together with their peer group in order to build self-confidence, team building, and leadership skills, and to serve as ambassadors to new students who enroll at Union Pines. We want to ensure that all new students especially military-connected students are welcomed into our school. We provide fun socials, field trips, and service project opportunities to help new students build relationships with their peers and grow roots in their new community.
