The Union Pines NJROTC placed 1st overall in a Drill Competition at 71st High School on 27 Oct. The unit competed against 13 schools, placing 1st in 9 different categories to secure the 1st place overall trophy.

 The Union Pines Navy JROTC Rifle Marksmanship Team competed in the Region 2 Air-Rifle Championship in Greensboro, NC on 30 November. Team 1 shot 2,004 out of a possible 2,400 points to place 1st  in the competition. Team 2 shot a 1,909.  This is the unit's 4th consecutive Regional championship.  The team also placed 62nd out of 281 nationwide schools in the Secretary of the Navy shoot.

COURAGE IS THE VALUE THAT GIVES ME THE MORAL AND MENTAL STRENGTH TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT, WITH CONFIDENCE AND RESOLUTION, EVEN IN THE FACE OF TEMPTATION OR PERSONAL ADVERSITY.

Accordingly, we will: Have the courage to meet the demands of our NJROTC unit when it is demanding or otherwise difficult; Make decisions in the best interests of the NJROTC unit and the school, without regard to personal consequences; Meet these challenges while adhering to a high standard of personal conduct and decency; Be loyal to our NJROTC unit an dour fellow cadets and classmates ensuring the resources entrusted to us are used in an honest, careful, and efficient way.

THE DAY-TO-DAY DUTY OF EVERY MAN AND WOMAN IN THE NJROTC PROGRAM IS TO JOIN TOGETHER AS A TEAM TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF OUR UNIT, OUR FELLOW CADETS AND CLASSMATES, AND OURSELVES.

Accordingly, we will: Demand respect up and down the chain of command, care for the safety, professional, personal, and spiritual well-being of our fellow cadets and classmates; Show respect toward all individuals without regard to race, religion, or gender; Treat each person with human dignity; Be committed to positive change and constant improvement; Exhibit the highest degree and moral character, technical excellence, quality and competence in what we have been entrusted to do
